ARE THE WAVES SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
THE BAY
Located at the southern right-corner of the slab before the breakwater wharf, The Bay offers great surfing conditions, especially during low and mid tide.
Best during rising tide, it's known for the longest wave in Africa and is perfect for beginners and intermediates, with a sandy bottom after the wharf. Each wave guides you back to the beach, reducing paddling. Access is through the harbor or beach paths.
CATHEDRAL POINT SURF SPOT
Found on the right corner of the peninsula, it's ideal during clean winter swells, favored by shortboarders and bodyboarders.
The wave can be remarkable, especially at low tide or with a good northwestern swell, reaching its peak at 8 feet. With waves at 5 feet or more, it forms a powerful peak requiring some surfing skills. Known for its steep, up to 20-foot high barrels during big winter swells..
CATHEDRAL BEACHBREAK
Between Imsouane’s northern and southern peninsulas, Cathedral Point and the Bay offer rideable waves breaking either way during high tide.
It's a safe spot for beginners or intermediates, particularly in small swells during spring and summer
